Our days at convention were special ones...aren't they always, tho?  We rented a trailer again which makes things SO much nicer.  It POURED at Saginaw this year and the kids loved using their "ta-rellas" (Elena's pronunciation of umbrella)

Trying to pack for convention and the twins came to me and said they're "all packed!"  Apparently they are only wearing shoes to convention!

G Family Reunion

We headed to Idaho in July for a family reunion on my mom's side of the family.  I was really excited because I knew all my immediate family was going to be there...but also had mixed emotions about being around all my mom's siblings.  It would be so glaringly evident that someone was missing.  It was the first time we were around all Mom's siblings since her funeral.   It was actually comforting and nice to be around Mom's sisters though. They all sorta look alike and sound alike.  I desperately want my kiddos to know and have a relationship with their Grandma's siblings.  I think the hardest part was taking family pictures and the picture that should have had nine, only had eight.  There were quite a few tears.  All in all...it was a fun trip.  I'm so glad we went!

Quilts

A friend of ours, Lisa V is a SUPER talented seamstress/quilter.  I wanted to have memory quilts made out of Mom's clothes for all of us kids and knew Lisa had done that before.  She did an AWESOME job!  I love them so much!  All the quilts are very similar, with some small differences.  Mine has the patch from Mom's Mudjestic Swine shirt; Teresa's has the patch from a hat that she had made for mom that says "I'm having a no-hair day" and a few of the quilts have Mom's Fish and Wildlife patch.  All the quilts have a yellow block in the center from a shirt that mom had that says, "Happiness is a Choice".  I love being able to look at the different blocks and remember the dress or jacket or shirt that Mom had and times that she wore them.
