Kaila and Aron's Wedding

Our nanny Kaila got married on September 6th and the twins were in her wedding.  She has been their nanny since they were about 6 mo old so it was pretty special.  They love their "Lala"!  The wedding was beautiful and a lot of fun.  We're happy for Kaila and Aron and wish them well!  Things are always interesting with two 3 year olds...and when you throw in Orrin's new found "potty independence"...things get REALLY interesting!  Just before the ceremony was supposed to begin, Orrin decided he needed to go to the bathroom.  The bathroom was way up the hill and Orrin wouldn't let me do anything.  It was painful how SLOWLY he undid his pants, etc.  I'm sure that it really wasn't all that long but knowing we were holding things up made it seem like forever!  Luckily Kaila knows the twins pretty well and all was well.  During the reception, someone came and found me to report that my little boy was locked in the bathroom.  Orrin had decided to go by himself and then locked the door but couldn't figure out how to unlock it.  Poor kid was pretty upset!  I couldn't talk him through it so went to find the venue owner to get a key.  Owner didn't think he had a key.  Luckily Papa showed up at the scene and could get Orrin calmed down enough to walk him through unlocking the door.  Things are NEVER boring!!

 

First Day of Preschool

Orrin and Elena started preschool this week and I can't even begin to tell you how excited they were!  They got to have their very own "pac-packs" and lunch boxes.  There was no clinging to Mom or tears.  It was WAY harder for Mama to let her babies go!  I am so glad that they get to go...they are loving it!

I can't believe that our firstborn Trevin is in 1st grade!  Our "cool kid" is a big jokester, but also very sensitive.  We're so proud of our Mr. T!

Our days at convention were special ones...aren't they always, tho?  We rented a trailer again which makes things SO much nicer.  It POURED at Saginaw this year and the kids loved using their "ta-rellas" (Elena's pronunciation of umbrella)

G Family Reunion

We headed to Idaho in July for a family reunion on my mom's side of the family.  I was really excited because I knew all my immediate family was going to be there...but also had mixed emotions about being around all my mom's siblings.  It would be so glaringly evident that someone was missing.  It was the first time we were around all Mom's siblings since her funeral.   It was actually comforting and nice to be around Mom's sisters though. They all sorta look alike and sound alike.  I desperately want my kiddos to know and have a relationship with their Grandma's siblings.  I think the hardest part was taking family pictures and the picture that should have had nine, only had eight.  There were quite a few tears.  All in all...it was a fun trip.  I'm so glad we went!
