Thanksgiving this year was a very different one. The backbone of our family was present physically, but pretty out of it. Mom was discharged from the hospital the Wednesday before Thanksgiving after a three day stay. It was there we learned that her cancer had spread through her liver and her days on this earth were very limited. The first days at home after her hospital stay, her meds weren't quite on track so she was pretty fuzzy. No complaints from our super strong Momma tho. We all tried to spend time just sitting by her knowing she liked to have us near. Lots of tears...but lots of laughter also. Heartbreaking goodbyes from her visiting grandkids at the end of the holiday weekend.
